Raihan CD: PUJI-PUJIAN (The Highest Praise)

Raihan or 'Fragrance of Heaven" in Arabic was formally formed in October 1996. It was originally made up of five members with Nazrey Johani, Allahyarham Azhari Ahmad (header), Che Amran Idris, Abu Bakar Md Yatim, and Amran Ibrahim. Raihan aspires to become a significant nasyid group in the Malaysian music entertainment industry- seeking to contribute to the country?s economy and further enhance the moral values and positive musical influence at large thru the songs, lyrics and image of the group.
With the cooperation of Nasser Abu Kassim and Tony Fernandez from Warner Music Malaysia, Raihan debuted its first album in 1997 entitled Puji-Pujian. This Album also marked Raihan trend of collaborating with other talents in album production. Raihan cooperated with Ustaz Amalludin Napiah for the song "Assolatuwassalam." Puji-pUjian album also marked another first not only for us but also for the nation as it made into the Malaysian Book Of Record for The Fastest Selling Album in a Month. 100, 000 units are sold. It became an inspiration not only for us but to many other inspiring artiste to promote and spread this genre of music even further. Puji-Pujian had become a catalyst for the rise of nasheed genre in Malaysia.
